Also participating in the initiative were students from the National High School of Arts “Tsanko Lavrenov” and university students from the “Public Administration” program at Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv.
The event was organized on the occasion of Constitution Day, Lawyer’s Day, and Judicial Employee’s Day and was held under the motto “Law is the art of the good and the just.” The participants were welcomed by representatives of the prosecution service, including Appellate Prosecutor Tihomir Stoev and magistrates from different levels of the judicial system.
The opening of the photo exhibition “Courts in Europe – My View from Inside and Outside,” presented by investigator Dariya Hristova, sparked particular interest among the students from NTG. It included 50 photographs from her professional visits to European institutions, among them the Court of Justice of the European Union, the European Court of Human Rights, and the Council of Europe. She introduced the young people to the work of the courts, the specific features of different legal systems, and her impressions from working with international magistrates.
As part of the initiative, the students from NTG, including those from the “Judicial Administration” specialty and the “Journalism and Public Relations” club, held meetings with prosecutors and judicial employees. They learned more about the professional path within the judicial system, the history of the Bulgarian Constitution, and had the opportunity to become acquainted on site with the work of the judicial administration by visiting the registry office of the appellate prosecutor’s office.
The event was also attended by members of the academic and school leadership, including Assoc. Prof. Margarita Ruseva – Dean of FESN, Assoc. Prof. Veselina Zhekova – Vice Dean, as well as Iskra Koycheva – Deputy Principal of NTG, and teacher Silvia Stoyanova.
Traditionally, the “Open Doors Day” is held annually at the prosecution service in Plovdiv and provides a valuable opportunity for pupils and students to come into contact with the real work of the judicial system and gain a practical view of the legal professions.
