Tribute to Levski and a Spectacular Show – NTG Celebrates Its Patron Day

The National Trade Gymnasium – Plovdiv marked its patron day with a tribute before the monument of Vasil Levski and a vibrant show in Hall "Sila" that gathered students, teachers, staff, guests, partners, and friends of the school.

The celebration began at the Alley of Bunardzhika where a wreath and flowers were laid by students, the principal Nikolay Mitev, and teachers, followed by a minute of silence. In her address, Elif Shakir (12e) appealed to follow Levski's ideals and to see freedom as responsibility.

In Hall "Sila", flag bearers opened the ceremony with the Bulgarian national anthem. Hosts Monika Bambalova and Momchil Dukov (11b) guided the evening. Principal Nikolay Mitev underlined the responsibility of continuing the century-old tradition of NTG and called on everyone to keep Levski's legacy alive.

Students from various classes delivered a recital dedicated to Levski under the guidance of Mrs. Stanimira Dimitrova and Mrs. Tanka Taranska. The artistic program featured the Bulgarian Folk Dance Club led by Mrs. Silvia Stoyanova and a special musical greeting from the trio "Elysion Trois" (Todorova, Mindov, Petkovska) from the National School of Music and Dance Art "Dobrin Petkov" with art director Mrs. Lucia Veleva.

The stage came alive with a cappella singing, breakdance, folk and modern choreographies, and instrumental duets. Highlights included "Legend of Love" by Dilyana Ivanova (9g), the majorette team led by Mrs. Bilyana Tyutyukova, and the breakdance performance of Vladislav Vaklinov (10z), while Aneliya Grozdanova (8e) and Danaya Karachomakova (8d) charmed with the guitar duet "Iris".

The traditional “Miss and Mister Econom” contest unfolded in two rounds. Online voting selected the winners:

  • Miss Econom – Nikol Owagenova (10a);
  • 2nd place – Diana Penova (11zh); 3rd place – Teodora Arabadzhieva (11b);
  • Mister Econom – Ivaylo Boychev (10zh);
  • 2nd place – Vasil Zgurov (10z); 3rd place – Mihail Lakerdov (11zh);
  • Most attractive couple – Nikol Owagenova and Ivaylo Boychev.

The prizes were provided by long-term partner DSK Bank. The celebration proved once again that the memory of the Apostle and the energy of youth move forward together — with respect for tradition and confidence in the future.
