On 25 November, the same training was held with the students of class 9d, majoring in "Business Informatics". Both classes are part of the pilot cybersecurity programme at the high school, led by teacher Delyana Nikolova.
The speaker at the event was Denis Petkov, an expert with more than ten years of experience in information security and working with young people. He replaced the traditional approach with a lively, interactive narrative including real cases, personal stories and practical examples that made a strong impression on the students.
What did the participants learn?
- What modern online scams look like – beyond the clichés.
- How trust is manipulated in a digital environment.
- How to recognise a fake profile or a malicious link.
- What stands behind terms such as "digital identity", "social engineering" and "information hygiene".
Particular emphasis was placed on critical thinking, the ability to recognise risky situations and the importance of protecting personal data – skills needed not only by future IT specialists, but by every modern user.
These off-site lessons are part of the long-term vision of NTG for creating a digitally literate, responsible and protected school community.
By Decision No. 507 of 18 July 2024, the school was included in the list of innovative schools in the Republic of Bulgaria with the project "For a safe and secure digital environment through cybersecurity education". In this context, NTG maintains cooperation with the European Digital Innovation Hub "Trakia" and other partner organisations in order to provide students with up-to-date content and the opportunity to develop practical skills related to real situations in the online space.
